Paxton United Methodist Church exists to know, grow, and share God’s Love.

We welcome anyone in need of a local church home to come and join us in worship and service.
 

Join us for worship on Sundays at 9:15 am!

  • Worship is in-person and live streaming on both YouTube and Facebook, or watch any time at        either site.  
  • Sunday School for adults begins after the worship service. Grab a snack and a cup of coffer or tea, and join us!
  • Sunday school for children and youth is available at 11:45 am.
 

Advent is a time of Preparation

Renew your spirit and prepare your heart for Jesus!
 

Special opportunities to give include

* Providing new hats, gloves, and other personal clothing items for the residents of Daystar Center for Recovery.

* Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army this year on one of three Saturdays at Sam’s Club: 12/7, 12/14, and 12/20. Contact Kirby to sign up!

* Gift cards for Missions

 

* Thank you to everyone who helped to decorate the church for the season.

* Thank you to all those who took a tag from the Angel Tree and shopped for children in the community we may not know, but love all the same!

* Thank you to the team who made and sent Christmas cards on behalf of the church!

Advent Book Study for Adults

Our Advent Bible Study is using Max Lucado’s Because of Bethlehem. Grab a cup of coffee and a snack and join us!

Cookie Sharing Time!

December 21 after worship
 
We will have a cookie tasting and recipe sharing time on Dec. 21. If you are able, bring 2 dozen of your favorite cookie and the recipe to share. (If your favorite cookie happens to be from a bakery, that works, too! Just let us know where we can buy them.)  Didn’t bring cookies? – No problem! Come enjoy cookies anyway, along with hot chocolate and fellowship.

Family Movie Night – The Shack

 

SAVE THE DATE – Saturday, January 10th will be movie night at Paxton. Everyone is invited. Bring a friend! We will start at 5:00 PM with hotdogs, candy, popcorn, and drinks. The movie will start at 6:00 PM. The movie is The Shack, based on the book by William P. Young. We will be discussing The Shack Book/Movie in Sunday School starting in January.

 
 
 
 

More Opportunities to Give and to Serve:

 
* On the first Sunday of each month we have communion. On those Sundays, consider bringing non-perishable items to share with Manna Food Pantry. There is a bin for donations in the narthex.
 
* Pastor Gary would love to have special music, on Christmas Eve and all through the year. If you have vocal of instrumental skills, please share them with the church!
 
* Check out the details of the PUMC Transportation Ministry ~ for Rides to Worship ~ and the PUMC Medical Equipment Sharing Ministry. Whether you are in need of one of these services, or can provide assistance, you will find a blessing in participating!
 
* Do you have a talent or skill you want to use for God, but don’t know where to begin? Talk to Pastor Gary or any member of the Leadership Team today! We want to help you find a way to grow and share God’s Love.
